The semi finals are over and the top ten paddlers move on to the finals later this afternoon(July 11).

In CIW Alexndra McGee finished 16th in a category dominated by Jessica Fox of Australia who finished first with a time of 142.34.  In KIW Jaz Denhollander finished 16th with a time of 133.79. Marissa Dederer was a respectable 21st with a time of 141.66. Eva Tercel from Slovenia won the semi final with a time of 118.30 with Jessica Fox finishing second with a time of 118.45.

The Ki semi final was very dramatic with some surprises and disappointment. Michael Tayler had a solid top but lost a bit of time near the bottom and finished 13th with a clean run of 113.48. Michael was .47 seconds from making the final. Former ORR paddler Jiri Prskavec finished just ahead of Michael in 11th spot. Simon Brus from Slovenia won the KI semifinal with a time of 106.79.

There will be a big crowd for this afternoon's final and we are looking forward to watching some great paddling here in Foix. Don't forget the next World Junior Championships will be in Wausau, Wis. in 2012.

Congratulations to all of our Canadian paddlers on an excellent and determined effort!
