Ottawa River Runners Annual General Meeting

The ORR's Annual General Meeting will be held on Tuesday November 27th, at Ficher Park Community Centre, 250 Holland Ave (northeast of the queensway), room 112

A number of directors positions are up for election. In particular, Jim Tayler is stepping down to take a leadership role on the 2016 Pan Am Games organizing committee. Thanks Jim and and thanks for taking on the Pan-Am role.  For anyone who has been considering getting more involved with the club at a decision making level, the next few years should be quite exciting.  We now have approval for the club building design by the NCC. We now have an official cost estimate and are starting our fundraising. This will be a huge challenge to raise the estimated 400 to 600k but the result will be a 200 boat storage facility with changerooms, a multipurpose mezzanine and a covered balcony overlooking the course. The facility would permit us to expand our summer programming for kids, support a full-time coach, expand our club equipment on-site inventory and private boat storage. It would also be a huge asset for event staging.  At this stage, we are looking for input and help in possible sources for grants and donations. All ideas welcome. Please forward to Doug.
